Cherry Blossom season is finally upon us! This watercolor of a delicately flowering cherry tree branch has a sad history. It was made by painter William Henry Holmes for Mollie Garfield, one of 26 drawings and paintings by various artists in an album presented to her after the assassination of her father, President James Garfield.
