Perhaps the most poignant, heartbreaking letter in our collections is this one from Lee Krasner to Jackson Pollock while they were in a period of trial separation. As far as we know, she never received a response, as Pollock died in a car crash less than three weeks after Krasner penned the letter. This letter is currently on view in our exhibit The Art of Handwriting.
